Greg and Doug started their electronics career by installing small dish satellites They started with Primestar and Greg was then given four counties to sell, install, and service Primestar satellite dish systems in west central Illinois. They started with Greg owner and taking care of the office and installing dishes in the counties in the south and Doug installing in the northern counties. Soon business expanded and more employees were added. Dish Network another satellite company got into the small dish market at this time. They were signed up to start selling Dish Network satellite systems as soon as they went live. Ketterman Communications was given a territory that included most of Southern half of Illinois and counties in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, and Iowa. They became the largest employer in Pike county, Illinois and had offices in Danville, Mt Vernon, Pittsfield and Cape Gireadeau, Missouri.  

The growth of this company was due to taking care of customers needs which created satisfied customers which they in turn told their neighbors about the company and which gave them new customers. Ketterman Communications has won many awards within Dish Network for their hard work and success. The satellite industry was just the start of the electronics field for these brothers. Greg also was one of the first internet service provider for his county. Besides satellite systems he sold other electronic products in his satellite showroom.
